MIT ROMNEY, THE GREAT PRETENDER
Feb 2nd, 2007 | By Sidney Gendin | Category: Others, WatchingpoliticsOh yes, I’m the great pretender
Just laughing and gay like a clown
I seem to be what I’m not, you see
I’m wearing my heart like a crown
Pretending that I give a damn.
(Trivial alteration in the last line of the Buck Ram classic.)
The Great Mormon, Mit Romney wants to be your President. So far as I can see, he has all the right stuff. He hates abortions, homosexuality, stem cell research, loves God and knows how to raise cash. I am particularly enthralled by the latter quality.
Mit waited almost 3 years before forming an “exploratory committee” to see if he should run for President. Exploratory committees make you subject to federal rules about how much money you can take from individuals for your campaign. The max is $2300. So hold off, guys and gals, until the last moment.
When Mit was not interested in being President, he raised $7 million for his campaign to become President. No contradiction, there – just politics as usual. Now, Mit is off running in full stride.
Peter Karmonos – gave him $250,000.
Kem Gardner – $190,000…………Mark and Joseph Fuller – $145,000………..Jon Huntsman – $140,000.
Chris Collins – $108,000………James Davis – $102,000……..Muneer Satter – $100,000, John Kaneb – $100,000…….Sam Fox – $100,000.
Balance that budget, Baby. If anyone can do it, you can.
